The plantation of Gielle was created in 1850, four years before Mariage Frères, with magnificent tea plants stemming from original varieties. Situated in the heart of the Darjeeling appellation, it is named after an eponymous stream that renders the area fertile and conducive to beautiful harvests. Dried leaves: The handsome buds display a powdery mahogany colour. Infused leaves: Frosted brown. A rich and appetising note of roasted pistachio accentuated by a wisp of elegant violet. Liquor: The liquor's amber robe reveals generous notes of pear, apple and roasted chestnut. Supple and persistent, the infusion is lively with a constantly evolving texture. Forbidden fruit.

At the heart of the lush valley of Mirik unfurl the tea plants of Turzum (in Tibetan ‘agora’ or ’the market square’) garden, planted in 1863. Each year, this gem of AOP Darjeeling produces extraordinary teas whose best leaves are worked specially for Mariage Frères according to the demanding principles of The French Art of Tea. Dried leaves: The leaves are finely crafted into beautiful twists with warm shades of macassar ebony. A generous proportion of silvery buds brings class to this summer harvest. Infused leaves: They exhale a sumptuous bouquet of fruity aroma alternating between stewed rhubarb, currants and black elderberry syrup. Liquor: The brilliant, limpid liquor reveals a beautiful mahogany colour with garnet reflections. Comforting notes of black cherry clafoutis and roasted apricot accompany a silky texture where the tannins find their rightful place. A perfect balance between flavour and character. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful opuses of the summer.

Starting in 1852, just two years before the creation of Mariage Frères, the garden of Puttabong (meaning « Home of Green Leaves ») seeded their first tea plants. Innovation and quality exemplify the values of this pioneering plantation which works to preserve the Terroir through sustainable agriculture in harmony with nature. The purity of the harvest is matched only by the supreme pleasure of its taste.
Dried leaves: The ample leaves and buds, in shades of brown macassar veined with black, are crafted into even, twisting shapes.
Infused leaves: A fruity bouquet alternating between blackberry and black fig, lifted by the warm and spicy notes of myrtle leaf.
Liquor: The cup is amber and shiny, like forest honey. Rich tannins structure this summer tea whose aromatic framework is built around seductive aromas of toasted pecan, black grape and a gourmet finale of roasted cocoa bean.
Tea from beyond the skies: an extraordinary Darjeeling Nouveau.

The planter offers a glimpse of his immense skill with this harvest, in the warm nuances of ebony and red cedar. Infused leaves: Lively and sparkling touches of cranberry and grapefruit peel paint a fruity picture, enhanced by the sweetness of roasted mango. Liquor: Shimmering with a thousand shades of orange, the cup presents a supple and enveloping liquor. Dried leaves: The young leaves and luminous, mahogany buds streaked in ivory offer notes of tamarind and Bengal quince. Infused leaves: Shiny terracotta, the leaves deliver a delicious score of prune and tonka bean. Liquor: Amber gold. « Himalayan Mists », created specially for Mariage Frères , is a highly prestigious black tea produced on the renowned Ambootia Estate in the misty mountains of Darjeeling. Like white teas, it is composed solely of silvery buds. The extremely selective plucking occurs only in the coolness of an evening under a rising moon. A delicate withering happens during the night; then the leaves are gently rolled at dawn (each bud having already been wrapped in a larger leaf for protection). The young, downy leaves produce a golden liquor tasting of hazelnut and muscatel, with a unique, unforgettable floral aroma.
