NAMRING UPPER MOONLIGHT

Description

The celebrated garden of Namring was created in 1855 by the British. Cultivated at 1,525 meters in altitude, this cru is harvested from an absolutely magnificent and prestigious parcel of land. Ample sunlight and pure water from the Himalayas provoke the formation of tasty buds and hence the crafting of this grand millesime. The remarkable character of Namring’s terroir and the admirable work of the planters associated with the unique savoir-faire of Mariage Frères give rise to a rich splendor of lunar velvety shades. 

The Moonlight tea collection draws its inspiration from the ancestral tradition of night picking, still practiced in the most prestigious gardens of Darjeeling. Under the silvery light of the full moon, pickers delicately harvest the buds and young shoots in the cool of the night. This exceptional method, inherited from practices related to cosmic cycles, allows for the complete preservation of the essential oils and subtle aromas of the leaves while benefiting from the lunar energetic influence on the plant's sap. Moonlight teas are distinguished by their unique character: a remarkable aromatic complexity, floral and fruity notes of incomparable finesse, and a natural sweetness that evokes the serenity of Himalayan nights. Each cup reveals the mystical soul of this exceptional harvest, offering a sensory experience of rare elegance. 

Dried leaves: Preserved in their natural integrity, these whole leaves and buds are the fruit of a precious and delicate harvest conserving their celadon hue and pearly reflections. The buds, true silver needles, undulate gracefully among the most beautiful leaves in the world in a chromatic symphony of bright green.

Infused leaves: The leaves display a soft green shade accented by young buds with golden glimmers, evoking the precious gold and silver-threaded embroidery of a teapicker's sari. The aroma that emerges subtly blends the delicacy of acacia with the freshness of white muscatel grape jelly, recalling the scents that rise from the terraced gardens caressed by the first morning breezes.

Liquor: The liqueur reveals itself in a white amber robe, brilliant and clear like precious crystal. Its fresh and subtle bouquet is nuanced by the velvety sweetness of fresh sugar cane and hints of golden madeleine. On the palate, its round texture reveals flavours of pine nut. From leaf to cup, this tea transmits the magic of celestial dew!

Cold brew:

1 - place 15g of tea in 1 litre of spring water; keep in the fridge for about 12 hours. 
2 - filter out the leaves then let the liqueur come to room temperature.
3 - best served in a large balloon glass, filled up to a third.

"Cold brew", a slow infusion in cold water, results in a further exploration of the infinite aromatic palette of this grand cru. The cold allows new fragrances to express themselves in a dazzling and totally intoxicating way.
