Les plus belles parcelles sélectionnées par et pour Mariage Frères s’étendent au gré des sommets (jusqu’à 1700 mètres d’altitude), parmi les monastères pittoresques et les lacs d’eau pure. Cette appellation prestigieuse se distingue par une majorité de théiers centenaires aux récoltes savoureuses. Une icône incontournable dans le monde confidentiel des thés premium.

Feuilles sèches : Les bourgeons et feuilles nourris de la première sève montante de printemps se parent de jade incrusté de reflets d’ambre clair.

Feuilles infusées : Un agréable bouquet aux notes fruitées évoque une pêche mûrie au soleil nappé d’un confit de figue blanche.

Ambootia, or « Land of the mango trees », is one of the most famous gardens of Darjeeling in the foothills of the Himalayas. 
For over twenty years, this majestic plantation has been cultivated in complete harmony with this exceptional Terroir according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, methods which have contributed to the fame of this prestigious appellation.

Dried leaves: The fine, silvery buds mingle with handsome, luminous emerald green leaves and those with more mysterious shades of rosewood.

Infused leaves: A gourmet scent of black cherry precedes sweet, fresh tones of honeydew melon and cardamom flower.

Liquor: Sparkling gold, the liqueur exhales a silky fragrance of apricot and white peach. Its round texture finds balance with the lively, sweet notes of young Muscatel grape.

This garden, one of the oldest in Darjeeling, was created the same year as Mariage Frères in 1854. The tea plants, lovingly pampered for over 160 years, still produce one of the best crus of Darjeeling. With its 176 hectares at 2,100m in altitude, where the slopes of the Himalayas wind their way between India, Nepal and Bhutan, this is the closest garden to Darjeeling Town.

Dried leaves: The young, whole leaves and their shimmering spring-green moiré hue mix and mingle with many golden buds.

Infused leaves: The exhilarating bouquet of wild berries and fresh walnut turns to a sweet note of ripe apple-cinnamon.

Liquor: Limpid and brilliant, the liqueur’s bright shade of blond caramel unleashes a soft aroma of green almond accompanied by a sweet scent of magnolia syrup. A silky cup, infinitely enveloping.

Founded by the British around the middle of the 19th century, this garden is one of the oldest and most prestigious in Darjeeling. For religious peoples, this place has long been a gathering spot for those seeking the peace and tranquility necessary for meditation: thus it was named “the land of the saints”. 
Surrounded by a rich flora of fruit and rare spice trees, not far from Darjeeling Town and facing the snow-capped peak of Kanchenjunga, the garden of Risheehat enjoys special care from the planter who respects and cherishes his land as a precious treasure.

Dried leaves: The whole leaves are preserved by an elegant shaping, giving them a magnificent, draped look. Their colours evoke the many green nuances of jade.

Infused leaves: They offer a richly fruity bouquet with major accords of white currant, papaya and green guava.

Liquor: Sunny, like the colour of daffodils, the enchanting liqueur exhales a gourmet nose of calisson. Lively and silky at the same time, it releases beautifully floral bursts of mock-orange and elderberry blending with the sweetness of orange blossom honey.

In the heart of the lush Mirik valley, at 1,300 metres in altitude, spreads out the tea plantation of Phuguri whose tea trees, planted in 1878, are nurtured by the Mahananda river. The garden was named after the centuries-old bamboo forest surrounding it, what the Lepcha (indigenous people of the Himalayas) call “phungri”. At spring the youngest leaves and their first buds are plucked by hand, benefiting from all the richness of this exceptional Terroir.

Dried leaves: Whole leaves rolled with great finesse. A dominant shade of satiny red amaranth contrasts with elegant touches of emerald.

Infused leaves: They reveal a sunny bouquet, accented with pulpy Muscatel grape and tamarillo jam.

The parcels of tea in the Namring garden, created in 1855 by the British, belong to Jhinglam and Poomong at 1,220 and 1,370 meters in altitude. Dried leaves: Sublime composition of whole leaves hand-crafted into fine twists. Their green tourmaline hue contrasts elegantly with the pearly white shimmer of the numerous buds.

The remarkable character of Namring’s terroir and the admirable work of the planters associated with the unique savoir-faire of Mariage Frères give rise to a rich splendor of lunar velvety shades. This excellent Darjeeling Nouveau 2015 makes its sensational world premiere at Mariage Frères.
North Tukvar (meaning « Flame of fire ») is one of the most famous gardens of Darjeeling, from where one can admire snow-covered Kanchenjunga – the third highest mountain in the world. Throughout the years, the plantation has become a model for sustainable living by producing its own natural compost and installing a gravity-based irrigation system. The surrounding bamboo forests preserve the stability of this rich terroir full of exceptional century-old tea plants.

Dried leaves : The exclusively manual harvest and the meticulous transformation of the leaves help to develop the most elegant and delicate aromas. The fragile, downy white buds illuminate an ensemble handsomely nuanced with ebony. The nose opens with a token of mangosteen and vanilla followed by fresh pistachio.

Infused leaves : Sublime and dazzling, the rippling malachite-green leaves are imbued with an extraordinary perfume of blooming magnolia, woven with exquisite notes of grapefruit honey and cashew.

Liquor : The colour of the robe is absolute magic, like a cut of fine silk, wild orange and copper. The subtle notes of chestnut honey and candied tamarind caress the palate like an eternally gourmet souvenir.

Starting in 1852, just two years before the creation of Mariage Frères, the garden of Puttabong (meaning « Home of Green Leaves ») planted their first tea plants in Darjeeling. Innovation and quality exemplify the values of this pioneering plantation which works to preserve the Terroir through sustainable agriculture in harmony with nature. The purity of the harvest is matched only by the supreme pleasure of its taste.

Dried leaves : The care taken during harvesting of the young, blooming leaves ensures the immaculate silver buds often associated with flowery orange pekoes, as luminous as black diamonds. The nose is soothed with a sunny note of pink lotus pistil blended with crisp elderflower.

Infused leaves : The pearly green leaves evoke gentle wild raspberry accentuated by a breeze of citrus and neroli. This fascinating alchemy in turn awakens a rich note of creamy, gourmet date pudding.

Liquor : A robe of golden organza. The liquor caresses the palate like a healing balm daubed with silky white honey, joined by a hint of delicate tuberose.

One of this years very first crus from Darjeeling, this tea comes from a high quality plot of land in Jhinglam in the garden of Namring whose slopes rise some 1,400m into the clouds and is exclusively reserved for Mariage Frères.

Leaves : a swarm of young buds and whole leaves exude a fresh and invigorating bouquet of watermelon, star fruit and green apple, backed by an evocative note of green almond.

Nose : woody and floral, fresh notes of alpine resin, persimmon and black cherry jam.

Liquor : a shimmering, honey-yellow robe offering a fragrance of crystallised lavender flower. A harmonious liquor with rich notes of lychee and wild blackberry followed by a firm hint of prune and floral aromas.
