CASTLETON
Description
Nestled in the vicinity of Kurseong, the « City of the White Orchid », Castleton has been one of Darjeeling’s most famous gardens since 1885. Enjoying an exceptional terroir, the planter passionately refines his methods so as to perpetually improve the quality of these harvests. The tea bushes planted at the beginning of the golden age of tea are the subject of special attention in order to bring out their aromatic quintessence which makes for the remarkable identity of this excellent garden. An ode to the senses and to pleasure.
Dried leaves: Fine plucking of tender young shoots in shades of amethyst green, delicately accented by exquisite pearlescent white buds.
Infused leaves: A luscious aroma unfolds, recalling a caramelised apple tarte Tatin and the delicate refinement of a citrus-zest shortbread. A subtle hint of raspberry weaves gracefully through the bouquet, lending softness and sensuality to this beautifully fruity composition.
Liquor: The liquor shines with a luminous golden hue and crystal-clear brilliance. It reveals an elegant bouquet in which the fresh character of green loquat harmonises beautifully with the floral softness of bay laurel. Silken and caressing on the palate, its texture combines roundness and vibrancy with remarkable grace. Noble terroir.
Preparation: 2.5g in 20cl of spring water at 95°C for 3 minutes.
