BLOOMFIELD
Description
This garden is situated at the summit of the Blue Mountain near Darjeeling Town, one of the historic stations of the famous « Toy Train » inaugurated in the 19th century. From these lands grow exclusive and unique crus, counted among the best in the world, in the heart of the Himalayas amidst the lush forests of rare, precious trees. On preserved land and surrounded by orange groves, these century-old tea plants deliver the magical harvests sought after by afficionados of prestigious First Flush Darjeeling teas.
Dried leaves: The carefully twisted young shoots are draped in a palette of countless green shades, accented by the platinum glimmer of the buds.
Infused leaves: A bright, lively note of fresh cardamom leads the senses toward the gourmand aromas of ripe nashi pear.
Liquor: The liquor brightens the cup with a solar glow, as golden as a blooming gorse. Its aroma blends notes of brioche studded with candied fruit with the freshness of golden kiwi. While the palate reveals the springlike freshness of birch sap.
Preparation: 3.5g in 20cl of spring water at 95°C for 5 minutes
Cold brew:
1 - place 15g of tea in 1 litre of spring water; keep in the fridge for about 12 hours,
2 - filter out the leaves then let the liqueur come to room temperature,
3 - best served in a large balloon glass, filled up to a third.
"Cold brew", a slow infusion in cold water, allows for a further exploration of the infinite aromatic palette of this grand cru. The cold allows new fragrances to express themselves in a dazzling and utterly intoxicating way.
