NAMRING UPPER FÉERIQUE
Description
« Tea from beyond the skies »
The celebrated garden of Namring was created in 1855 by the British. Cultivated at 1,525 meters in altitude, this cru is harvested from an absolutely magnificent and prestigious parcel of land. Ample sunlight and pure water from the Himalayas provoke the formation of tasty buds and hence the crafting of this grand millésime. The remarkable character of Namring’s terroir and the admirable work of the planters associated with the unique savoir-faire of Mariage Frères give rise to a rich splendor of lunar velvety shades.
The ‘Darjeeling Nouveau’ Collection, created by Mariage Frères: an early-bird special, this tea is delivered from the tea garden to the cup.
Dried leaves: The first shoots and their slender buds, tinged with shades of green almond and satin mother-of-pearl, reveal themselves with rare delicacy, as though awakened by the earliest breaths of spring. The whole, of exquisite refinement, suggests a harvest as promising as it is singular.
Infused leaves: From the warmed leaves rises a delicate floral fragrance, where the freshness of a sprig of lily of the valley, a harbinger of good fortune, intertwines with the mellow fruitiness of guava. The zesty brightness of candied kumquat comes to delicately define its contours, composing a bouquet of shifting and infinite nuances.
Liquor: The liquor is adorned with a luminous golden hue, illuminated by the orange reflections of marigold blossom. Its finely wrought aroma is enlivened by the freshness of young almond, before softening into the delicate fruitiness of mirabelle plum. The palate is veiled in a silky texture, shimmering with notes of lily and pearlescent buds. This floral expression, of remarkable purity,
unfolds with enduring and graceful persistence.
A divine nectar.
Preparation: 3.5g in 20cl of spring water at 95°C for 5 min.
Cold brew:
1 - place 15g of tea in 1 litre of spring water; keep in the fridge for about 12 hours,
2 - filter out the leaves then let the liqueur come to room temperature,
3 - best served in a large balloon glass, filled up to a third.
"Cold brew", a slow infusion in cold water, results in a further exploration of the infinite aromatic palette of this grand cru. The cold allows new fragrances to express themselves in a dazzling and totally intoxicating way.
