Description
On the heights of Darjeeling, amid forests and mist, the Nagri garden has flourished since 1870 at an altitude of over 1 200 meters. From these cool, refreshing slopes are born teas of great delicacy, prized by aficionados and embodying all the elegance and finesse of the finest Darjeeling. This cru comes from a plot reserved for Mariage Frères, cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
Dried leaves: The finest spring shoots ae delicately rolled in on themselves, the result of a precise and careful gesture. Their jade and celadon hues are enlivened by the silvery highlights of slender buds.
Infused leaves: A first springtime expression opens with fresh notes of birch sap, before softening into the fruity nuances of ripe anone.
Liquor: The clear infusion unfurls a golden, sunlit palette, like mimosa in bloom. It releases a joyful fragrance of buttercups and wildflowers, while the palate is awakened by the lively notes of an apricot kernel. A delightful expression of spring.
Preparation: 3.5g in 20cl of spring water at 95°C for 5 minutes.
Cold brew:
1 - place 15g of tea in 1 litre of spring water and refrigerate for approximately 12 hours,
2 - filter out the leaves then let the liqueur come to room temperature,
3 - best served in a large balloon glass, filled up to a third.
"Cold brew", a slow infusion in cold water, allows for a further exploration of the infinite aromatic palette of this grand cru. The cold allows new fragrances to express themselves in a dazzling and utterly intoxicating way.
