AMBOOTIA LUNE D’OR
Description
Ambootia (which means « Land of the mango trees ») is one of the most famous gardens of Darjeeling in the foothills of the Himalayas. For over twenty years, this majestic plantation has been cultivated in complete harmony with this exceptional Terroir according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, methods which have contributed to the fame of this prestigious appellation.
Dried leaves: A generous proportion of silvery buds lends this autumn harvest a rare distinction. The leaves present themselves in majestic form, shaped into graceful curls and adorned with warm hues reminiscent of Macassar ebony.
Infused leaves: The first delicate notes of sweet sandalwood rise gently, soon joined by a subtle gourmandise of stewed rhubarb and candied quince, touched with finely honeyed nuances.
Liquor: The clear, shimmering liquor reveals a beautiful copper robe with topaz glints, expressed through a generous bouquet carrying notes of melting apple and black grape preserve. The leaves from this final harvest before winter enrich the liquor with their ripe tannins—present yet supple—enveloping the palate in a fruity veil accented with Himalayan peach. A delicious memory of an Indian summer.
Presented in a Mariage Frères black pouch.
