CASTLETON
Nestled in the vicinity of Kurseong, the « City of the White Orchid », Castleton has been one of Darjeeling’s most famous gardens since 1885. Enjoying an exceptional terroir, the planter passionately refines his methods so as to perpetually improve the quality of these harvests. The tea bushes planted at the beginning of the golden age of tea are the subject of special attention in order to bring out theiraromatic quintessence which makes for the remarkable identity of this excellent garden.
Presented in a Mariage Frères black pouch.
Description
Dried leaves: Harvested at full maturity in the height of summer, the whole leaves display beautiful shades of mahogany with garnet reflections. The many buds punctuate the ensemble with elegant streaks of gold and silver.
Infused leaves: A refined bouquet in which Muscatel grape opens a duet between violet and candied angelica.
Liqueur: Bright in colour, intensely orange like the setting sun, the velvety liqueur is pleasantly supported by a rich and supple texture. A scent of praline biscuit with hazelnuts exhales from the cup while, on the palate, delightful fruity notes of Medjool date and candied quince expand. Between flavour and character, the balance is perfect.
A delicious memory of summer.
