In the 12th century, south of Kyoto, then the imperial capital, the Uji region bore witness to a flourishing tea culture that would soon conquer all of Japan. Its exceptional terroir along with the savoir-faire of its dedicated planters have earned its green teas their worldwide reputation. This tea from a garden located in Wazuka has been cultivated for almost half a century using methods that respect the environment and its biodiversity, thus sharing a love of nature with Mariage Frères.
