HAPPY VALLEY
This plantation, one of the oldest in Darjeeling, was founded in 1854 just like Mariage Frères. With its 176 hectares at 2,100m in altitude, where the slopes of the Himalayas wind through India, Nepal and Bhutan, this is the closest garden to the old town. Tea plants that have been lovingly cherished for over 160 years still produce one of the best crus in the region.
Presented in a Mariage Frères black pouch.
Description
Dried leaves : A mesh of silver buds and young jade-coloured leaves deliver a note of tamarind fused with a perfume of nutmeg flowers.
Infused leaves : Jade trimmed with mahogany, the esthetic harmony of the leaves becomes even more dazzling when a rare and magical aroma of just-harvested tea buds emerges. Walnut and freshly sprouted fern are subtly joined by a hint of candied red rubarb.
Liqueur : Luminous pearly amber, the liqueur exhales a flowery score of hyacinth and a sensual trace of camelia flower honey. The palate is draped with fruity aromas similar to ripe apricot before unleashing delicious fragrances recalling an apple tree orchard in bloom.
Delightfully joyous.
