HAPPY VALLEY
FTGFOP1 DJ1/2017 - Jardin Premier*
Darjeeling First Flush
This garden, one of the oldest in Darjeeling, was created the same year as Mariage Frères in 1854. The tea plants, lovingly pampered for over 160 years, still produce one of the best crus of Darjeeling. With its 176 hectares at 2,100m in altitude, where the slopes of the Himalayas wind their way between India, Nepal and Bhutan, this is the closest garden to Darjeeling Town.
Dried leaves : A dazzling array of luminous, Veronese green-tinted buds exhale a gourmet note of tamarind and flowery elderberry.
Infused leaves : Jade with a trace of mahogany. An energizing note of hibiscus dances with that of cardamom flower.
Liquor : Sparkling copper amber. The liquor breathes a first note of tantalizing buttery shortbread before caressing the palate with a silky nuance of intense pineapple and passion fruit. The finale signs off with a delicious note of grilled hazelnut blended with a unique aroma of lilac at dusk, resonating with a tone of jasmine vanilla.
Joyfully gourmand.
