TI KUAN YIN MONKEY KING
Blue tea™
China
This blue tea from Wu Yi Mountain, in Fujian province, is outstanding. The term "Monkey King" is a metaphor for "the best, hand-picked leaves" (because "only monkeys can climb to the top of the tree for the tenderest leaves").
Lightly oxidized, this tea is composed of deep green orange pekoe leaves, selected one by one and finely rolled. Its liquor is golden yellow and its silky cup is dominated by floral notes that develop echoes of rose with a slightly woody after-taste. Its smooth, ample flavour long caresses the palate.
